What does it take to clear your goods from the ports?

For people that are into importation business, one of the challenges faced is being able to clear your goods from the ports for it to be allowed into your country.

In some countries, clearing goods from the ports is cumbersome. What area are the requirements for goods imported from other countries to be cleared from the ports in your country?

I salute those that have been able to stay for long in importation business. You would need to hire a clearing agent, submit documents like bill of landing and do custom declaration before you can bring your goods into the country.
