I don't like apps that pay because they are too slow to earn. I was told about Honey Gain; I installed it but left it because the earnings were too slow.
Personally, I don't like the idea of using an app to earn but if you want to then read reviews about them on sites
Using a friend referral that you can trust that is and looking at the reviews

I typically research using Google and find valuable information on different forum websites. However, I tend to favor the latter option.
Best place would be to look for paying apps on forums. Forums have people who write a genuine review of sites that they have worked on. If at all a site is a scam you will get first hand information on forums. Trust pilot and the rest carry fake reviews.
Beermoneyforum is a forum i so much trust in that regard. You can get all the information you need in BMF. Another forum that have a lot to offer is warrior forum.
