Prima facie evidence is important in the rules of law because it establishes a fact on first impression. Is its evidence sufficient to prove a case unless disproved by contrary evidence? It also shifts the burden. Once prima facie evidence is presented, the opposing party must produce evidence to refute it. Further, it speeds up legal proceedings. Once prima facie evidence is presented, it helps the court decide if the case has enough merit to proceed. Moreover, it ensures fairness. Prima facie evidence prevents cases without sufficient evidence from continuing unnecessarily.

Prima facie evidence is one that is good enough to win a case, one they have this available against you it wll be very hard to defend yourself later on.
