What is the most reccomended amount of money a person is allowed to keep at home?

Most people here live within the regular pay cheques on salaries. So what is the most reccomended percentage of money that a person is required to keep at home after making a withdrawal from the bank?

Yes, in our city, that amount is not that huge. I need to have some cash at home in case I need to call a repairman to fix some issues. Repair guys usually just accept cash.
