We often mistakenly use the wrong term, perhaps we should say investment planning instead of financial planning or vice versa. because the two are not synonyms so of course there will be many differences between the two terms. As far as I know, our financial planning must look or predict far into the future, perhaps more than 30 years, such as retirement. Meanwhile, investment planning will take a shorter perspective of 1 year to 10 years. Apart from that, do you notice any other differences?

The two words are synonymous but financial planning is totality of all financial related issues which include expenditure. Investment planning does not include expenditure. Financial planning is more of master plan of entire financial activities. Investment planning is more of how to invest and make profits.
