When you don't prioritize your business by your actions, your staff would take it casually too.

A business owner that I know just bought a personal car while there are still some things that are lacking in the business. The staff as a result of that have all lost priority in the business because the owner preferred to satisfy himself than develop the business.

A business owner must demonstrate by words and actions that priority attention is given to the business.

As the business owner you should really be very mindful to your business. That is be in the top notch always in terms of the day to day running of the business for that matter. The more seriously you are the more committed the staffs would be for sure.

That boss there sent a wrong message to the staff with buying the car. The staff might end up pursuing their personal interests ahead of the business interests.
A boss buying a car in front of his staff is like a samurai being given a golden katana and others being left in the dark. This move creates tension. People start following personal interests instead of business. Unity breaks down. It's like a Maori carving breaking and the roots losing balance. When you're well organized, fairness is the lantern that lights the way in the dark and loyalty blooms like sakura in spring. Every corner is full of fresh ninja vibes.

Take your time to find the right fit. But if you notice toxic behavior early on, don't hesitate to let them go. Keeping the wrong person drains a business
Taking the time to find the right person is very important but if you see bad behavior early on, don't delay in letting them go because carrying a toxic person is like carrying a load of stones on your back. The business gets tired and loses strength. It is better to let them go early than wait for the situation to get worse.

It is like the story of Hercules when he carried the world for a long time without help. Staying with the wrong person is a burden that strangles you and makes you unable to see ahead. If you get rid of them early, the business gets a breath of fresh air and the team remains morale to work like heroes in battle.
