Legally or according to the marriage law in my country, debts incurred before marriage will remain the responsibility of the individual to pay them off. So legally the assets and debts owned by one of the partners before marriage are assets and debts brought in, so the prospective bride and groom can make a prenuptial agreement before getting married to legally protect assets and debts. What is the marriage law in your country, who is responsible for pre-marital debts?

In my case, I do not have any idea about it. I may know it once plan to marry he he but I do not have debt. In my simple analysis it will be the owner of the debt responsible for paying the debt. If my future partner has debt, I will never help him pay his debt unless the reason of that debt is credible like treatment of q dreadful sickness or operation. I may help pay his debt.

Although we do not have debt, this thread is just a discussion to share legal insights in other countries, especially about debt in marriage. However, in my country, in practice, many men pay their wives even though the debt was taken before marriage.

In India, the person who takes the debt has to repay it, not anyone else. Of course there's a guarantor for every loan who will be held responsible if the loan is not repaid.

I don't think there is a specific answer to this question, it mainly depends on the couple. Marrying a person means you accept them not just now, but both who they where before marriage. I don't think a person who truly loves their partner would let them struggle to pay depts alone.

In practice or reality, it is true, it will depend on the couple, but legally, especially in some countries, debts will remain the responsibility of the person who took the debt before marriage.

I am not 100% sure about the legal requirement in my city. But my impression is the debt should be repaid by the person who took the debt before marriage. That said, if the partner is willing to share the burden after getting married, they are free to do so.
