I always say that business is not for people that are not smart. If you are not quick thinking, it would be very difficult for you to succeed in business.

Let's share why a business person has to be very smart.

1) To identify business opportunities.

Add your own.

Smart yes, but not in an academic sense.

Business smarts = street smarts. You have to be able to see opportunities, react to problems that are far more nuanced than you originally think, and make tough decisions that may come back to haunt you.

It makes no difference what your academic background, grades, test scores or other such achievements are. While those types of smarts are helpful, they can be outsourced to employees or contractors.

I actually meant street smart. You can't be a gentle person and expect to do well in business. The business world is very fierce.

Business demands more than hard work, it requires intelligence. Identifying opportunities is just one part. Smart entrepreneurs anticipate market shifts, spot potential risks, and seize advantages faster than others. They negotiate effectively, innovate constantly, and manage resources efficiently. Quick thinking keeps them ready for unexpected challenges.
