You ever notice how most people who are really well-off tend to be older? Like, when you look around, it’s usually someone in their 50s, 60s, or older with the house, the car, the savings and here we are, hustling on side gigs, wondering how they did it. I’ve been thinking it’s not just luck. Older folks have had time on their side, time to invest, to save, to learn from mistakes. They’ve been working longer, seen a ton of failures, and somehow figured out which risks were worth taking. And let’s be honest, a lot of them probably started small too. My uncle, for example, started a tiny corner shop when he was my age, and now he owns a few rental properties. He didn’t become rich overnight, he just kept going.

Patience plays a huge role too. Most young people want big wins fast, crypto booms, viral online businesses, quick flips. While older people have learned that slow and steady wins more often than not. Compound interest, smart investing, consistently saving over decades, it really adds up. I also think there’s something about less FOMO. Older people don’t chase every trend or hype. They’ve been burned before and learned to stick to strategies that actually work. And honestly, wisdom in managing money is huge. Knowing when to spend, when to save, when to invest, that comes from years of trial and error. I’m curious, though. Do you think it’s all about time and experience, or do older people just know something the rest of us don’t?

Older people with a lot of money learned about the importance of financial literacy. From it, they learned to save a lot, invest a lot and build business. They never run out of money. I notice oldies here with a lot of money still live within their means. They avoid extravagance.

Older people have been in employment or usually have their business for years. They accumulate their earnings over the years. That said, I noted that in this digital age, some young guys can get rich if they are innovative enough to develop some new digital products.
