Why is insurance company insisting on using incorrect address?

Since my parents were old, I was living in a small city/town for several years and I retain that address in some of my id proof documents. I have relocated to a metro city for almost 4 years, yet a major insurance company is insisting on using the earlier address, despite requesting to the use the current address. What could be the reason for the insurance company using a wrong address, falsely claiming that the earlier address is used on the passport?
