Why would a smartphone take up to 8 hours to charge to full?

The phone normally used to take just three hours to charge till full. But suddenly, it charges very slowly and takes up to eight hours to fully charge. What are the possible reasons for such slow charging in a smartphone?

It usually happens when the battery needs to be replaced, as it has drained a lot. Maybe, it could happen also when the mobile is overcharged with many apps, but I'm not sure.

I would go with the battery needing replacement. Or possibly the charging system has a fault that needs to be fixed.

Give also a look at the plug: when the plug is damaged, the battery stops to charge at all. Last year it happened to my Moto G10.

Did you change your charger? It's possible you are using the wrong charger. Then if you are using the phone while charging, it would still slow the charging down.

The culprit could be the charger, 8 hours of charging is too much. My smart phone is fully charged after 1 hour. I have 4 chargers.

How come no one is talking about the USB chord? It always causes smartphones to charge very slowly.

There might be an issue with the battery or the charging cable. I'm not really sure, so it's best to have it checked. My smartphone usually takes about an hour to charge fully.

I bet you that the problem is from the charger. And it can be very frustrating. Change the entire charger completely.
