Whys do some small businesses still have an administrator when the owner is still avaliable and active in management?

I have seen two businesses that have an admin seperately from the owner. It is not as if the owners of such businesses are busy and don't have time to manage their own businesses. The owners are always around. Why do they have to hire an administrator for the business still? And it is still a small business that should be thinking of managing funds?

I think a small business having an administrator is right. It helps the business to have a structure and identity distinct from the owner.

It's possible that the business owner does not know much about the business, hence they hire people with more experience to assist them.

The business may not have all the skills necessary to run his/her business. S(he) may need someone to help with accounting or marketing.

It is better to allow professionals to run your business for you. Doesn't take your position as business owner.
