According to the report, a woman turned to artificial intelligence for a stroke of luck and ended up winning a $100,000 Powerball prize.
The report also stated that Tammy Carvey, 45, used numbers generated by ChatGPT to match four white balls and the Powerball—11-23-44-61-62 PB: 17—in the Sept. 6 drawing, initially winning $50,000, according to the Michigan Lottery on Thursday. The prize doubled to $100,000 because of the Power Play option.
The lottery winner said that she only plays Powerball when the jackpot gets up there, and the jackpot was over $1 billion, so she bought a ticket, asked ChatGPT for a set of Powerball numbers, and those are the numbers she played on his ticket." Upon checking the results, Carvey realized she had matched four white balls and the Powerball.
In addition, Carvey said that Google told her it was a $50,000 prize, so that’s what she thought she had won. It wasn’t until she logged into his Michigan Lottery account that she realized she had added the Power Play to her ticket and actually won $100,000.
Carvey recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She said she plans to use her winnings to pay off her home and save the remainder.
