The staff of an organization held a meeting and has decided to summon the business owner to have an audience with them.

If you were the business owner, would you attend such a meeting that you are summoned by your staff? How would you manage such a situation?

For me it depends mostly on two factors, the reason for the meeting and my schedule at the moment. That by the side am definitely going to be there or have someone who can tell me everything that goes on in the meeting to be there.

Why would a staff summon a boss to a meeting. Maybe I'm looking at the word summons because I wouldn't be cool with such action
What a funny thing a staff summons the business owner. In reality it never happened. It is impolite and crossing the line being a staff only. A customer could summon a business owner to court if something unlawful was done to the customer.

Yeah mate, I couldn't go pass the word summons a boss to a meeting. That's will be a height of disrespect. it's not done anywhere

That staff is insane thick face or if she's a mistress she can easily do it to impress her guts. But I doubt if there is staff who make it.

Yes, a respectful staff can think of doing that let alone doing it. So it might just be one with a thick face that can pull.suvh stunt with the boss

Actually, it will never happen. There is no reason for doing it. It is best to use the word invite than summon for it implies something negative, unruly.

Yes that's my point exactly. They can. only humbly or politely invite the boss to join the meeting that if it is really necessary

If there's some problem that the staff want to solve for the owner, he definitely should.

@Augusta, @Starmix, I am sure you both have not worked in a corporate environment before. The staff as a body can meet and resolve that they want their boss to hear them. They then send the superior to invite the boss to a meeting with the entire staff team. We have done this before when I was working in a school and we wanted salary increment. We invited our boss and we spoke our minds to him. This happens all the time. The boss has a right to attend or refuse to attend.

This was my response to @Starmix "Yes that's my point exactly. I was only having a problem with the word summons

Wrong term used, summon. Collins defined summon as an official order , court order, warrant , writ, subpoenas .

Bosses get very scared of attending meetings they are invited by the staff body. They would rather prefer to talk to the top staff leaders rather.
