Would you feel comfortable having a foreigner who stays outside as your business partner?

On my business page on Facebook, a user from Switzerland has proposed to partner my poultry business that is based in Nigeria. He has already sent reps to checkout my farm and he is pushing to work out a partnership deal.

What are the complexities of having an international business partner not based in your home country?

That depends on your relationship with the foreigner. If you know him/her well and find that s(he) is trustworthy, I see no reason why s(he) cannot be your partner. You may also take advantage of his/her presence in a foreign country to expand your business overseas.

Do a background check. See his passport, and check his business permits from his country. You should also refer it to your friends.

Having someone that is staying that far away as your business partner would demand that you have a very great communication link with the person.
