Would you rather hire a staff for a positive attitude or for skills?

Imagine you are to hire a staff for your business organization now and you have two prime candidates. One is not too skilled but has a very positive attitude. The other is highly skilled but doesn't have the level of positivity in attitude as the other.

Would you hire for skill or attitude?

It would be best to have a balanced combination, but in a situation where i have to choose one, i would go with skill, and work on how to improve their attitude.

Actually, both are needed. If I have to choose, I will pick the one with a positive attitude. S(he) can be trained after joining the company. S(he)'ll learn fast if s(he) has the right attitude.

I will not hire a staff who don't have both skill and attitude in proper combination. Both is necessary in sustaining a business. A skilled worker without attitude will do more harm to a business than a worker without skill.

I would take the better attitude person and train him or her to have the required skills. I don't like working with people that don't have character.
