21 years old arrested over $220,000 love scam

The Police Special Fraud Unit in ikoyi-Lagos, Nigeria have arrested a 21-year-old female from Anambra State. Miss Atuonah Cynthia Chioma, for fraudulently obtaining $220,000USD by false pretence from a German citizen.

Chioma who is a 2019 graduate of Economics, Nnamdi Azikiwe University claimed to be a model and she is also a proprietress of a spa, lured the 50-year-old German man on Instagram by feigning romantic intentions to gain the victims’ trust. She promised to marry the victim and even invited him to Nigeria on different occasions

Chioma convinced the victim to relocate permanently to Nigeria so that they can get married. He was persuaded by the suspect Miss Atuonah to return to Germany to sell his house in Stuttgart and forward the proceeds of the sale, together with his pension and life savings to her domiciliary account to purchase a house in Nigeria. The German man did all these only to find out that miss Chioma just wanted all the money and wasn't ready to marry him.

The Nigeria police are investigating the case already and the suspect is under detention.

What an idiot Greman, he should have not allowed it to happen because of love. It was a big slap on his face . That young Nigerian may have been used to that kind of cheating the foreigners. I am glad she was detained.

The man is quite silly and stupid. How can you foolishly send such amount to a lady who is not yet your wife. I think he will need to examine his brain. Moreover, it will be difficult for he to recover all the money.

Yeah you are right but you know that sometimes love can make one seems stupid especially if the other person is one you love a lot.
 
Unfortunately, some individuals can be easily deceived and taken advantage of. The most susceptible victims tend to be older individuals who are seeking companionship/relationships. This experience should serve as a reminder that it is important to exercise caution when dealing with others, particularly when financial matters are involved. Some will attempt to scam or manipulate others for their benefit.

A vicious thief or fraud I should say. At 22 she is quite dangerous.

Love moves mysteriously hehehe, it is better to let the mind work for that German. he was so clouded with the glory of the flesh not the sanity of his actuality whether he was scammed or he feeling dumb,

The lady saw the level of his dumbness in the name of love and took advantage but she should also wait for her karma because it would also bite her ass. Hehehe

It is so obvious, that the man was carried by her luring ways that he can't think of the right way. He never had in mind if it was legit or fake love from the girl.

That young girl was a hustler. She might have victimized many foreigners. She might look good and charming lady. She should be remorseful of what she did to men.

That girl doesn't like to live in poverty. She doesn't like to labor but rather wants easy money in an immoral way. For her come what may and it has come.

That German national was to blame too for being dumb. He didn't function his commonsense or refuse to accept on what his mind foresaw.
