A particular client never lets the new staff serve him. How do I handle such a situation?

Supposing you own a barbing salon and hire two staff barbers. One of the barbers has been there for five years while the other barber just has been a year with the business. The biggest client of the business only allows the older barber to serve him. No matter how much the newer barber tries to convince the client, he won't have any of it. Even if the older barber is out for three hours, the client would prefer to come back by that time to barb, rather than let the new barber serve him.

What can the owner of the barbing salon do about that situation?

Nothing the business owner can do but to allow the client to work with his own preferred staff. The customer is always right.

Yeah you have to let the client be and make the new staff showcase his work more if he is efficient the client will decide later

The new staff is incompetent. Nothing more. When clients see that he is competent, they would let him serve them.

You can't really do much about this, no one would let a newbie cut their hair. With time your clients will get use to the new staff.

I have been a newbie in someone's sewing shop. And all the customers wanted me to sew for them. That newbie right there most likely is not good at the job.

That's why i said give the newbie time, most newbies who join barbing are usually those still learning. I remember when i first joined photo editing, where i normally work, no one wanted me to edit their pics cause i was new and learning. Within two months i had tons of people lining up, even those who refused to let me touch their pics the first time. And you know barbing salon is not like sewing where you can easily show pics of your previous works

You can't force that person. He might have a bad experience in the past. He wanted the one he used to. Letting him come back to be served by the old worker is the best solution of his wish.

You can try to convince thr client or allow him to wait for the old barbar. Some people are very picky.

Some clients prefer their favorite staff or employees. It’s best to let each client choose their preferred barber. I’m quite sure that other clients will select the new barber later.

If he is a valuable client you should do what he asks for. In the mean time also try to learn why he prefer someone and dislike someone
