The liar has destroyed your reputation, so the government refuses to believe you, though you can legally prove that you are telling the truth.

In most cases i let it go, i believe in karma, they would reap what they have sown, so no need taking any action myself.
The problem with keeping quiet, is that cheaters will encourage others to also cheat you to get government jobs , saying that the victim will keep quiet even if cheated.
