How do I believe she is broke when she is still buying things she wants and satisfying cravings?

So my partner just told me she is broke. And that I should send her some money. But I am not seeing her cutting back expenses or adjusting her lifestyle. She still buys what she wants to buy without hesitation and still satisfies cravings.

How am I supposed to believe she is broke so I can be convinced to send her money?
