Have you in your business had that person that don't buy themselves but have directed a lot of people to your business. And those people they have directed have actually bought.

In what ways can such an advocate of a business be rewarded?

This person is a great asset to the company. They have attracted many customers, even if they don’t buy themselves, which creates a huge impact. The reward can be simple but meaningful. You can offer discounts, special gifts, or public accolades such as certificate or a greeting. You can enroll them in a loyalty program and give them reward points every time they refer new customers. This is bound to make them feel valued and encourages them to keep spreading the word. When these people are valued, they become true ambassadors, and the brand grows quickly. This way, you will retain a loyal following and maintain their commitment.

If the person refers a lot of customers to the business but he or she does not buy anything from the business, that may mean the s(he) cannot find anything suitable to buy. May be the business can still give her a VIP card just in case s(he) needs to buy anything in the future.

Yes it is still good to give such a person something. This will help to motivate the person to do more

I have such a customer, she always give my contact to people and they usually end up patronizing me. One day, I handed her a sample and said, "this is for you to taste and patronize". She smiled and said " Thanks, I was going to buy just now" she ended up buying one and getting one free.

Of course, the first time you have to give a reward in accordance with the commitment that has been announced, even if the referral person never buys an item, you must be able to keep your promise even if he only gives a referral to your business.

I have a system of giving back to people who support my business by referring people to me, I simply place them on a bi-annual treat whereby they're called to the office and gifted for their labour of love. I give out products and cash prices.

These advocates deserve acknowledgment. Monetary rewards, like referral bonuses, are one option. Another is offering discounts, early access, or free items as appreciation. Highlighting their support publicly, such as on social media or newsletters, can also reinforce their importance. Rewarding them encourages ongoing referrals while building goodwill and stronger relationships with your community.
