Bad publicity is the negative public/consumer perception of a product or business. Bad publicity can happen at any time and can affect both small and large businesses. Bad publicity can spread quickly, either through the internet or word of mouth.

Publicity often plays a key role in how the public perceives a product or business. Bad publicity often stems from trivial or minor issues, but it is unavoidable and can have a negative impact, especially on product sales, before the business/company can defend itself or respond.
 
That would be crucial if not corrected right way by the business owner. If the issue is true, the owner must seek for an apology in public, if not, he must improve his products and services for the satisfaction of the customers.
 
Bad publicity can damage a business that has been built with sincerity over the years. The thing with bad publicity is that it comes like the waves but with patience and sincerity it will pass. Endeavour to be calm through the process and explain to the right audience
