How true is it that people don't buy what you do, but why you do it.

In my study about content marketing, I just stumbled on this statement. It goes thus, " People don't buy what you do, they buy the why you do it".

What is the implication of this in relation to marketing and contents. How do I define a d project the "why" of what I am selling?
 
I don't think this is always the case though, most people don't care why you sell a particular thing, as long as they have need for it, they will buy.
 
In today's commercial space, people buy from brands they connect emotionally to. Sales has gone beyond just presenting products and services. Build emotional connection between customers and the brand.
Yes, Business success is based upon the relationships developed with the marketplace. There's always a connection
