I have heard staff of a business organization say that either their business owner or manager is too soft.

What do you think makes a business owner or manage too soft? How does it affect the business if a business owner or manager is too soft?

Hello everyone, in my opinion, an overly lenient owner or manager is usually one who avoids making difficult decisions, doesn't set clear boundaries, and fails to enforce consequences when necessary. This can stem from a lack of firmness or a fear of creating conflict. When a leader is too lenient, it can negatively impact the business because staff may feel there is a lack of discipline and accountability, leading to low productivity and disorganization. Furthermore, the absence of clear boundaries can create an environment where employees don't take rules or processes seriously, which can result in errors or a decline in service or product quality. On the other hand, it's also important to strike a balance—to be firm yet fair. A business needs clear direction and strong leadership to thrive, but without losing empathy and respect.
