Solution
I am interested in participating in Writer's Corner, can anyone provide more detailed information about:
- Types of articles needed, whether: opinion, review, narrative etc.
- What topics/discussions are acceptable?
Thanks in advance

Hello @Devin - I am also interested in writing articles. Can you please provide us with details about how to get started in here?

Hey guys. Sorry for the delayed response. Everything you need to know can be found in the instructions thread - https://discussionbucks.com/threads/welcome-to-the-writers-corner-article-submission-guide.12735/

@Devin - Hello! Thanks for posting guidelines. However, there are a few questions I would like to ask that were not addressed in the webpage you referred to.

1) How many articles can we submit in a single month? It has been mentioned in the guidelines that it may take a couple of weeks to review a single article. If we do the math, then this would suggest that we can write just a couple of article as it may take a full month to review just a couple of articles. In short, how many articles can we submit in a single month? Are there any limits?

2) Secondly, is it necessary to add images to our articles? What if our articles do not contain images?

3) Thirdly, can we write articles regarding any topic? Can we write about any kind of topic such as travel, business, food, health, finance, real estate, news, making money online, cryptocurrencies, shopping, etc?

4) Fourthly, what is your stance regarding content which is generated through AI tools? I am an ESL writer who has written content in the past for content mills, and I have never used such kind of tools to write articles. However, such kind of articles are crafted and edited in such a manner that they end up looking like hand-written articles? In the past few years, new and improved tools have been developed to create articles. There are a few YouTubers who are teaching people various different techniques that may help content creators. For example, there are many tools that can create and rewrite articles in such a manner that they actually look like hand-written articles. I think even software that detect spun content also grade them as hand-written, original content. So, can we submit such kind of articles in writer's corner or should we submit hand-written content only, which is actually written by the author?

Please hold this thought. I am going to pause article submissions for the time being as we go through ownership changes in the next couple of weeks (https://discussionbucks.com/threads/a-bittersweet-announcement-from-the-founder.13828/) . We will revisit these questions in the coming weeks.

Since @fords8 is the new owner of the forum, I think he can shed more light related to this topic now.
I am afraid not as of right now. @Devin and I are still working on getting everything moved. I will also be away from Friday, September 27, 2024, to Sunday, October 6, 2024. I have a few things to review more closely when I return, and this was one of the items on my list.

If you're looking to join Writer's Corner, here's what you need to know:

Types of Articles:

You can write a variety of pieces, like:

Opinion articles: Give your recipe for the current event or social issues.

Reviews: Discuss the books, the movies or products that you have used.

Narratives: People should tell anecdotes.

How-to guides: Give out useful advice on subjects you enjoy writing about.

Acceptable Topics:

As for what you can write about, think along the lines of:

Nowadays events or problem

Arts and culture

Personal growth

Technology trends

Environmental topics

Still, it is better to consult with the given requirements of the selected platform, because sometimes it has special topics or preferences regarding received material. Happy writing!

Ok. We are waiting. I hope you will soon make an announcement related to this.

I have not started to think about it yet. We are nearly finished with moving things over to me. Yes, it has taken some time to do. Had to get approved for a few things under my name. @Devin and I need to chat about this abit. I hope he will have sometime to handle some of the article reviews and so on.

EDIT:
Just a heads up. I did do some thinking about this subject tonight. The current setup of the review process is a bit too overwhelming for me to manage. And I want to create a platform where everyone can submit articles that could potentially be featured. I may take an approach to it like Forum Coin does. More to come as I think about it.

@fords8 - The forumcoin is a garbage website and I do not think that we need to imitate that website. If you want, then you can create a separate platform where everyone could get paid to write articles. This is just a suggestion.
Why do you think it is garbage? You think it is as a whole forum? Or just the article part?

Have you read articles published there? With the kind of articles published on forum coin, I do not think DB will benefit if we use the similar method. We need SEO articles that will bring search traffic, so strict approval process is very necessary.

I don't think most of them are front page articles. But on FC, they are more like a forum post. To be on the front page here at Discussion Bucks, you need to bring your *A* game. I envision a space where anyone who wishes to write can easily do so. Get a small amount of D-Bucks for doing so. Then have the *A* game articles featured on the front page. SEO articles are the ones that will hit the front page. Not saying that every post shouldn't be SEO friendly, but the chances of that happening are very small.

I would need to bring in a team to do the reviews of these articles and pick which ones are featured. I would have to come up with something so that team articles are not the only ones getting featured. Or find some really good tools to help me do it on my own. I need time saver tools to help.

Or have a system where you submit your article and it becomes a post. You get say .25 in D-Bucks for this stage. Next step is that everyone reviews and helps determines if it is *A* game or not. Once users get done voting, The staff make up their minds. The staff has the final authority. Need to give the person sometime to correct the article. Ones that don't make it, they are moved to a section that are just everyday posts. The user will get an extra .25 in D-Bucks. The ones that are featured will be front page and they will get 1.25 in D-Bucks.

Such a system is designed not only to cater to the five members receiving featured items but also to attract those who wish to write purely for enjoyment.

I wonder how people would feel about writing short stories and getting a few D-Bucks for those.

I am just thinking out loud here.

I think allowing users to write articles for few D Bucks and featuring the best ones on the home page with additional rewards can be a great idea.

@fords8 - I don't think that it would be a wise idea to make thing complicated. You can create a separate website l related to discussionbucks like "articlebucks(dot)com". However, this would require you to buy a separate domain. Having said that, moving articles to the category of normal posts on discussionbucks may also discourage many writers from posting.

So now I am making a new site? I am not going to do that. That domain is 688.00 too.

Oh. That's quite expensive. I was just offering my opinion. It wasn't a financial advice, though. Let's see how you will deal with this issue and introduce article writing feature in here. We will be waiting for your announcement.

I just seen a post on FC about a writing site. Person said they made .0001 cent for a four hour activity.

So let me ask, what is a good pay for a 2500 word article with a few images? Lets say it is going to go on the front page. I wonder what writers think is fair.
